Melissa Schneider, LCSW, is a couples counselor, speaker, and published author. She has given talks on relationship trends for Oxford University, Carnegie Mellon University, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Business Insider, the Asian American Bar Association, and the Bowery Women’s Center. After living and practicing in mainland China, Melissa’s first book, The Ugly Wife is a Treasure at Home: True Stories of Love and Marriage in Communist China, was published by Potomac Books in 2014. She earned her master’s in Clinical Social Work from Columbia University and completed additional training in couples’ therapy at the Gottman Institute.
